The Village Center

Summary (updated 1/11/2024):

Construction of the affordable housing portions of this development, on the southeast corner of Osuna & Chavez, is well underway. These buildings, sites 1-3, are three stories with 204 residential units. Only one of these three buildings has an elevator, leaving the other two incompatible with senior housing.

The design of sites 4-6 is not finished, and their construction is further down the road, so their design can be negotiated.

In previous years, five stories was discussed and dismissed because it would require the construction of a parking structure. Additionally, traffic studies have been conducted on this intersection for a potential drive-thru retail business and concluded that it could not facilitate an increase in traffic, thus voiding the retail business potential.
